Eddy Lambert

Typisch voor het werk van Eddy Lambert, is dat het ontstaat op een abstracte voedingsbodem van vorm en kleur. Op die manier worden vormen en kleuren geboren die hij niet had kunnen bedenken. Daaruit ontstaat een beeldvorming, de laatste jaren meer en meer overhellend naar het figuratieve. Hoewel occasioneel sommige werken kunnen blijven hangen in de schermerzone tussen abstractie en figuratie.
Haast nooit wordt er vertrokken van een idee of concept. Het werk vormt zich gaandeweg en het thema geeft zich prijs naarmate het werk vordert. Beelden uit de belevingswereld en soms uit het onderbewuste van de kunstenaar openbaren zich op die manier.
Zo blijft het schilderen boeiend, ontdekt hij vormen, kleuren en hoeft hij niet in herhaling te vallen. Het gaat om de rechtstreekse confrontatie met het schilderen zonder dat het vertrobeld wordt door een idee, filosofie of thema.

Typical of the work of Eddy Lambert is that it springs from an abstract breeding ground of form and colour, without assuming a theme.
In this way froms and colours arise which he had not been able to invent. Out of this a creation of an image comes into being on the brink of abstraction and figure, inclining more to the figurative in recent work, though.
Eddy Lambert doesn’t start from a thought or concept, because this inevitably refers to what is already over. He goes along with what happens at the very moment of painting.
In doing so painting remains, for him in the first place, fascinating, surprising and always new and so he avoids repeating himself. It is quite obvious that in this way images from the subconscious somtimes emerge.
It is all about direct confrontation with painting itself, so that it is not obscured by an idea, a philosophy or a theme is unveiling itself while painting.
